February 20, 2017 – HADDONFIELD, NJ — Elena Ciccotelli, CEO and Co-Founder of Take It Home, announced that it has been one of ten companies chosen to present its new business model at the Wharton Club of New Jersey’s Entrepreneur Showcase and Pitch Event, held February 23 2017, starting at 5:30pm, at the Newark Office of McCarter & English LLP.
Take it Home is an on-demand prepared gourmet food platform, delivering vacuum sealed cooked meals and unique food products to customer’s doorsteps. “We are an online mobile marketplace that lets users order ‘fine dining’ selections, with locally sourced ingredients, prepared by our chefs and ‘guest chefs’ signature dishes from well-known local restaurants,” Ciccotelli stated. “We also feature new food products from local culinary entrepreneurs with our association with the Dorrance H. Hamilton Center for Culinary Enterprises in Philadelphia, PA.” Take it Home also offers corporate catering, and, says Ciccotelli, “if you like what we are serving you, you can order it at the event from your mobile phone, to have it delivered to your door.”
Take it Home is a business with an aligned mission of “doing well by doing good.” For every meal purchased, either online or through catering, one meal is donated to the local food bank. Ciccotelli emphasizes, “so while you are enjoying your pre-prepared gourmet dinner we deliver, you know that someone else is also enjoying a meal that they otherwise would not have had, without your generosity – ‘doing well never tasted so good.’
The Wharton Club of New Jersey was founded to meet the needs of the Alumni of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business who live and/or work in New Jersey and the surrounding metropolitan area. The Entrepreneur Showcase and Pitch Event is an opportunity for local Wharton School affiliated entrepreneurs to introduce their new company concepts and ideas to a broad audience of leading angels and venture capital firms, as well as fellow alumni. While many companies will have booths offering information, only ten entrepreneurs were selected to “pitch” before the group. “This is the first year we have ever offered an event such as this,” says Susan Okin Goldsmith, Esq., Partner at McCarter & English and V.P. of Membership of the Wharton Club of NJ, but the response has been outstanding, we are almost at capacity, and starting a wait list for those who want to attend, so we are looking forward to an exciting night. Companies like ‘Take it Home’ should provide great new ideas and business models to our audience.” The event is complimentary to all angel and venture capital investors, if they contact Ms. Goldsmith in advance and make arrangements to attend.
